Twinsie Tuesday Nationality

Hiya Dolls

Twinsie Tuesday is here again!  We are showing our Nationalities this week.  My parents are both British and Irish.  I was not about to attempt any flag nail art, so I just stuck with the British flag colors, and for my Irish heritage I free handed a little clover leaf.  It looked much cuter in person!

The white polish is Wet n Wild White.  The blue is Zoya Song, such a pretty blue!  The red is OPI Nicole Kourt is Red-y for a Pedi.  And the green clover is OPI Nicole One Time Lime.

Be sure to check out the other Twinsie's!

Love and Beauty Peach and Wet n Wild Fergie Hollywood Walk of Fame

Hiya Dolls.

I live in BC Canada, and really close to the American border, so I love to make the trip across to pick up certain items that I can't find here.  I was so excited when the mall in Washington opened up a Forever 21!  Their Love and Beauty polishes are so cute and have a great price point at $2.80 a piece.

This is Peach, a really lovely orange peach with lots of silver shimmer.  Formula was a little thick, this is two coats.

I added one coat of Hollywood Walk of Fame from the Wet n Wild Fergie Collection.  This topper is packed with multicolored stars and silver bar glitter.  The stars didn't lay flat against my (very curved) nails.  There were a few edges poking out, even with a topcoat.

China Glaze Something Sweet and Joe Silver Glitter

Hello Dolls!

I picked up the China Glaze Ombre set in Sweet Sensations.  There are four really lovely pinks in the set, one of which I'm showing you today.  It's called Something Sweet, a pretty, pastel pink cream.  This was two easy coats and a top coat.

I added a little nail art using Joe Silver Glitter on my ring finger.  I love how simple and sweet it looks, while adding a bit of glam.

Twinsie Tuesday Skittles

Hello hello, welcome to Twinsie Tuesday.

Today we are showing mani's with polish chosen by somebody else.  I let each of my family members choose a color.  Loralai (10 years old) chose China Glaze For Audrey, which is on my pointer finger.  She also chose Zoya Song, which is on my ring finger.  Nalaya (8 years old) chose China Glaze Make An Entrance, the hot pink on my middle finger.  And my hubs Canaan chose OPI On Stranger Tides, on my pinky.  The funny part was when I asked him to pick a polish, he just yelled out On Stranger Tides!  Funny that he knows this stuff!

OPI The Impossible, Liquid Sand

Hiya Dolls

I am showing you my first liquid sand polish!  It's from the Mariah Carey Collection.  My polish swap friendo Nory from Feirce Makeup and Nails sent this to me and I love it!  It is no where near as gritty as I thought it would be, but still has a really fun texture.

This was so easy to apply, two coats gave me enough opacity.  I heard that these take a while to dry, so I waited about 5 minutes between the two coats.

There is a lot going on in this polish!  In the pink/coral jelly base there is microglitter, silver hex glitter and large stars.

The removal wasn't as hard as I thought it would be either, much easier than removing regular glitter.  Have you all tried the new textured craze?

Twinsie Tuesday Fictional Animal Print

Hello hello, welcome to Twinsie Tuesday.

I am going to start by saying that this weeks theme was a total bust for me!  I do NOT like doing nail art, and this week I was forced to do some.  The theme is Fictional Animal Print, so the print of a dragon, mermaid, unicorn etc.

I chose mermaid and tried to do a scale mani using a cute one I have seen around by Chalkboard Nails.  Well, mine does not look like hers!  This took so flippin long to do that I was not going to start all over with something new, so ya get what ya get this week!

Just glance at it quickly and keep reading please!

Why were dots so hard for me to do?  I was too impatient while making new dots to let the other dots dry, and my polish was getting all goopy.

I do like the colors I chose though!  I used China Glaze For Audrey, Sinful Colors Cinderella, Zoya Shelby and China Glaze Something Sweet.

Color Club Blue-ming and Love and Beauty Crystal

Hello er'ybody,

I'm ready for Spring!  Are you?  Blue-ming by Color Club is a lovely soft, turquoise cream that just screams Spring to me.  Spring 2012 you say?  Yes I'm a year behind but that's because this polish just made it's way to me care of the lovely Nory from Fierce Makeup and Nails.  I am so excited to own this gorgeous color!

As pretty as Blue-ming is on it's own, it was begging to be layered!  I used my new Love and Beauty polish by Forever 21 called Crystal/Multi on my accent finger.  I am all over this polish right now!  Multi-sized shards of orange, purple, pink, blue and gold in a clear base make this a perfect layering polish.  I made a jelly sandwich out of it using OPI Don't Touch My Tutu over top.

Twinsie Tuesday Sweet 16

Bonjour mon ami

It's Twinsie Tuesday again (I feel like I'm always saying that) Sweet 16 edition.  I thought long and hard about what I would have worn around the age of 16.  For me being a teen in the 90's meant grunge!  So anything dark and vampy would be right up my alley.

I distinctly remember seeing a friend of mine coming to school wearing black polish with silver glitter over it.  I was so smitten, but not quite daring enough to wear black.  I usually would go with a vampy purple or red.  So today, I am wearing what I think I would pick out if I could be 16 years old looking at my stash!  And that is OPI Live And Let Die from the Skyfall Collection.

Live and Let Die is a blackened green cream (that leans blue) with lots of beautiful gold/green shimmer.  Formula was easy and smooth, two coats for perfect opacity.

Orly High On Hope

I was so excited when I saw Orly High on Hope (Spring 2013 Collection) at my local Sally's.  I love almost any polish that has little glass flecky/shimmer.  This chunky shimmer definately is a duochrome, but it only shows up in certain lights.

High On Hope is a chameleon, it looks different in almost every light.  Sometimes it looks like a dusty denim blue, sometimes it looks like a royal blue and then sometimes that flash of shimmer just blows you away!

I loved HOH so much that I wore it for 5 days, ya that's right, 5 days!

Look at the beautiful color shift in the bottle!

Twinsie Tuesday Fruit Mani

Hello hello!

It's Wednesday, but I'm posting my Twinsie Tuesday mani today because we were on our way home from California yesturday!  We had a great time in Disneyland, so warm and fun.

This week's prompt was inspired by fruit.  I chose to do an apple mani.  I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as the base color, and Nicole Kourt Is Ready For A Pedi as the red apple and Nicole One Time Lime for the leaves.  I just used my dotting tool to add the fruit accents.

Check out the other Twinsie's (if you haven't already!)
